Hawthorn (Crataegus species) is a small thorny tree or shrub native to Europe, North America, and Asia. Its leaves, flowers, and berries are widely used in herbal medicine. The plant is known for its clusters of white to pink flowers and small red fruits. Traditionally, hawthorn has been called a “heart herb” due to its strong association with cardiovascular health.
